Visit Leicester during any month in the year and you’ll find something amazing going on.

Leicester’s has some renowned annual festivals that attract thousands of visitors and famous names from all over the world.

The Leicester’s Comedy Festival will be in its 22nd year taking place from 4th February to 22nd attracting over 5000 visitors to more than 50 city venues and over 600 shows.

Towards the end of spring it’s time for Leicester’s lively Riverside Festival 2015, a free event for all the family with live music, boat trips and a variety of food stalls.

As summer emerges it’s time for a busy few months, starting with the unwinding and relaxing Barefoot Festival 2015 located in the beautiful grounds of Prestwold Hall. Closely followed by Leicester’s Caribbean Carnival, a hugely popular event attracting over 20,000 visitors. In mid-August visitors can enjoy the festival atmosphere and traffic-free cycling of a six kilometer ride around the city at Sky Ride Leicester. Ending the summer’s festivals will be Leicester Pride on 5th September 2015. Leicester’s annual Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) festival.

Autumn sees a real mix starting with the Leicester Marathon and Half Marathon where you see the city centre transformed into a race track, as runners from across the county attempt to complete 13 miles. Then Leicester’s Diwali 2015 festival, one of the worlds biggest Diwali celebrations outside of India. Followed by the Abbey Park Bonfire and Fireworks Display, Leicester’s biggest firework display.
