Belvoir Castle & Gardens

Belvoir Castle & Gardens

About us

“You say Potato, I say Potatoe” As the song goes? Belvoir Castle – typically pronounced not as it appears but as “Beaver” due to the anglo-saxons inability to pronounce French!

Any which way, an amazing place to visit that we are lucky enough to boast about in our County!

The 11th Duke & Duchess of Rutland live here with their 5 children and open it up for various reasons throughout the year, including charity events, weddings, fishing, horse events, and of course to visitors to tour the castle & gardens amongst other experiences.

Belvoir Castle has many points of access – as in it offers so much to so many people in all of the events it hosts. There is their private Chapel where you can get married followed by a reception within their amazing castle rooms or in their marquee within the grounds, they have an annual charity shoot, you can hire some of the castle for corporate events, if you are looking for somewhere to film you can hire the place and they have amazing accommodation available for group booking including the Kings Room. Of course it is also open to the public on set dates throughout the year with 3 tours a day through the castle 11:15, 13:15 & 15:15.

The gardens are open on their own as shown on their website: http://www.belvoircastle.com/contact/visit-us You can also get involved with the restoration of the gardens through “Friends of Belvoir Gardens”, just contact their head gardener Nikki Applewhite for information on how to become involved: Nikki@applewhitegardendesign.co.uk
