There are so many things to do and see in Leicester and Leicestershire. WhyLeicester has all you need in one place. Of course with so much history comes cultural delights in their droves and for the hungry culture vultures amongst you there are theatres, Manor Houses, Antique Centres and the much publicised Richard the Third attraction, detailing the King’s story and how he came to be discovered under a Leicester Car Park.
If, following the drinking up of so much culture, you’re in need of a little retail therapy then you can look forward to miles of shops of all shapes, sizes and varieties. Being a City Leicester boasts extensive retail outlets and shopping centres, which include The Highcross Shopping Centre, The Haymartket Shopping Centre, Fosse Shopping Park and St. Martin’s Square, to name but a few.
Getting away from the urban areas will see you surprisingly met with miles of beautiful scenery, with particular places of interest being the Watermead Country Park, as well as over twenty separate nature reserves found throughout the region. That said you needn’t move too far from the centre to enjoy some wonderful nature in the many parks throughout Leicester. Why not visit the Botanic Gardens, Nelson Mandela Park, Victoria Park or Grand Union Canal.
